wonderlab: Kids' Stuff

Pop into Waitaki Museum to explore Kids’ Stuff!, then nip across the road to discover even more nostalgia at the Forrester Gallery. It’s hands-on, low-tech fun – just like the good old days. Wonderlab: Kids’ Stuff! celebrates the simple joys of classic Kiwi childhoods – think kites, paper boats, paint-by-numbers, and sewing cards. Good old-fashioned fun for the whole whānau.

Aroha mai, sorry - this exhibition has closed earlier than the published date due to the construction of the gallery extension. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Pop along to the Waitaki Museum instead for the extended exhibition of Kids' Stuff, open until 29 March 2026.

Usual opening times: Tuesday to Friday 10:00am - 4:00pm. Weekends and public holidays including Waitangi Day, King's Birthday and Matariki 1:30pm - 4:00pm. Closed Mondays (unless a public holiday).
