Linda Collins Loss Adjustment Talk Oamaru Library

Author Talk with Linda Collins

A celebration of Linda Collins' powerful new book, a stunningly intimate portrait of loss and grief through the words of the author, as a mother, recounting her teenage daughters’ suicide.

Loss Adjustment was shortlisted for Book of the Year at the Singapore Book Awards 2020. Linda currently resides in Kakanui.

New Zealand has the highest suicide rate for teenagers among the world’s wealthy developed countries. Most are like Linda’s daughter Victoria McLeod , aged 15 to 19. Linda examines the tragedy of teenage suicide from her profoundly personal viewpoint, while Victoria’s journals, uncovered after her death, give an incredibly valuable insight into the unseen stresses and anxieties suffered by many teenagers.

This is a free event, all welcome. Copies of the book will be sold - price TBD. Light supper provided.
