Current Reads: The Girl on the Train

Girl on the Train

This installment of Current Reads comes to you from our Overdues Library Assistant Zuni Steer.

Her current read is The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins. You can find this book on the fiction shelves at Oamaru Library.

I don’t normally read fiction but this was recommended to me by three people. So, one weekend I took it home to read. Needless to say it was hard to put down once I started. Pacy, intriguing and with plenty of twists and turns, this whodunit was based around North London, my home town. Observations from an overground train into the back gardens of terraced suburbia was standard fare in my youth, commuting to and from work, so I could relate to the story’s setting. Implausible as much of the tale becomes, you are drawn in to the story, desperately wanting to find out who the protagonist is, to settle one’s moral sensibilities. Definitely worth a read.
